Established in 1890 in Kentish Town, JHornsby remains a family business, with generations of experience in interior design and restoration.

Pictured above you can see the Hornsby family posed outside the original store in 1918, celebrating the end of the Great War. A motley crew, perhaps, but the Hornsby association with antiques and furniture was already apparent then, and has stood the test of time.

Through over a century, while fashions and governments have changed, and at times financial crisis has prevailed, as a small family business we have survived and developed.

And from our current location in the heart of Brompton Road we continue to have the pleasure of serving clients new and old in maintaining and restoring their antiques and fulfilling their modern furnishing requirements.

We run a bespoke soft furnishing service – making luxurious hand-made curtains, tailored roman blinds, upholstered pelmets and dramatic swags and tails as well as accessories such as cushions, throws and tablecloths. Working either from fabrics chosen from the wide range of samples in the showroom downstairs, or in some cases from your own fabric, we produce traditionally made lined and interlined curtains with goblet or pinch pleated headings for a timeless look, as well as more contemporary eyelet or wave headed curtains. Our services include supplying and fitting tracks, poles and pelmet boards.

Roman Blinds can be lined and interlined with borders and trimmings and are either made in the traditional manner with a corded system that is secured with a cleat fitted to your window frame, or with a top quality Silent Gliss chain mechanism. We also supply quality roller blinds chosen from a range of standard colours and fabrics, including light diffusing and high-tech UV resistant fabrics. Or you may prefer to choose from our almost limitless range of fabrics, many of which can be laminated for use as roller blinds.
